INTERNATIONALIZATION OF THE AMAZONIAN
ANSWER SENATOR OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF BRAZIL TO AN AMERICAN YOUTH ON
INTERNATIONALIZATION OF THE AMAZONIAN
During debate in an university, in States Unidos,o former-governor of DF, former-minister of the education and current senator CRISTÓVAM BUARQUE, it was questioned
on what he/she thought of the internationalization of the Amazonian.
The American youth introduced his/her question saying that she waited for the answer of a Humanist and not of a Brazilian.
This was Sr.Cristóvam Buarque's answer:
"In fact, as Brazilian I would simply speak against the internationalization of the Amazonian. No matter how much our governments are not the due careful with that patrimony, he is ours.
"As humanist, feeling the risk of the environmental degradation that it suffers the Amazonian, I can imagine his/her internationalization, as well as of everything the more than he/she has importance for the humanity.
"If the Amazonian, under an ethics humanist, it should be internationalized, let us also internationalize the oil reserves of the world inteiro.O petroleum is so important for the humanity's well-being as for Amazonian
for our future. In spite of that, the owners of the reservations feel in the right of increasing or
to reduce the extraction of petroleum and to arise or not his/her price."
"In the same way, the financial capital of the rich countries should be
internationalized. If the Amazonian belongs a reservation for all to the human beings, she cannot be burned by an owner's will, or of a country.
To burn the Amazonian is as serious as the unemployment provoked by the global speculators' arbitrary decisions. We cannot leave that the financial reservations are to burn whole countries in the pleasure of the speculation.
"Before even of the Amazonian, I would like to see the internationalization of all the great museums of the world. Louvre should not just belong to France.
Each museum of the world is guardian of the more beautiful women pieces produced by the human genius. One cannot leave that cultural patrimony, as the Amazonian natural patrimony, be manipulated and well educated for a proprietor's taste
or of a country. He/she doesn't do a lot, a millionaire japonês,decidiu to bury with him, a picture of
a great master. Before that, that picture have been internationalize.
"During this encounter, the United Nations are accomplishing the Forum of the Millennium, but some presidents of countries had difficulties in attending for embarrassments in the border of the USA. Therefore, I think New York,
as headquarters of the United Nations, it should be internationalized. At least Manhattan should belong her/it all the humanity. As well as Paris, Venice, Rome, London, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Recife, each city, with his/her specific beauty, yours recounts of the world, it should belong to the whole world.
"If the USA want to internationalize the Amazonian, for the risk of leaving her/it in the
hands of Brazilians, let us internationalize all of the nuclear arsenals of the USA. Especially because they already demonstrated that you/they are capable to use those weapons, provoking a destruction thousands of larger times than the lamentable burning done at the forests of Brazil.
I "defend the idea of internationalizing the forest reservations of the world in exchange for the debt. Let us begin using that debt to guarantee that each child of the World has possibility to EAT and of going to school.
Let us internationalize the children treating them, all of them, not importing the country where you/they were born, as patrimony that deserves cares of the whole world.

But, while the world to treat me as Brazilian, I will struggle so that the Amazonian
